Abstract

530,752. Hair-waving appliances. ZACCARO, F., and MILOSIS, P. C. July 1, 1939, No. 19254. [Class 131] A combined hair waving comb and clamp comprises a pair of co-operating clamp jaws 10, Figs. 1 and 3, pivoted at 15 and normally closed by a spring 16, the comb 11 being situated between the jaws. The jaws are provided with handles 10a by which they may be opened. The comb is formed with cam elements 12 adapted to be engaged by the handle 10a for holding the comb centrally of the jaws and firmly extended therefrom. Figs. 7 and 8 show a modification in which means are provided for holding the comb in two different positions within the jaws. This comprises a slot 21 formed in the cam 12<SP>1</SP>. in which a spring 22 is mounted, the end 22a of which is attached to one side wall of the slot while the other end 22b bears against the other and is provided with depressions 23 registering with corresponding depressions 24 to form seats for the pivot pin 15<SP>1</SP>. The handles are formed with leaf springs 25, 26 engaging the cams 121 to hold the jaws in the open and closed position respectively. Ventilating openings 20 are provided in the jaws 10.
