Abstract

409,931. Hair-waving appliances. CAHN, B., 8, Corneliusstrasse, Frankfort-on- Main, Germany. July 11, 1933, Nos. 19593, 20041, and 20042. Convention dates, Aug. 13, 1932, Oct. 19, 1932, and Dec. 24, 1932. [Class 131.] A clasp for hair waving or setting comprises two spring-controlled jaws 3, 4 the lower edges of which are curved to conform to the shape of the head, the jaws being provided with rows of teeth 9, 9<a> which interleave when the jaws are closed, the longitudinal direction of each tooth being oblique relatively to the curved line 7 connecting the base of the teeth. The jaws 3, 4 are provided with finger grips 10, 11 and with lugs 6 pivoted on a hinge pin 5 carrying a spring 8. The jaws are provided at the bottom with outwardly bent rims 12, the tips of the teeth on one jaw engaging with and projecting slightly beyond the edge of the rim 12 on the other jaw. The jaws are thus not in contact at the base of the teeth. The clasp may be curved laterally.
