Abstract
394,189. Hair combs. SOLBERG, 0., 8, Southampton Street, Bloomsbury, London. Sept. 29, 1932, No. 27056. [Class 131.] A comb for waving or curling the hair is provided with resilient overlapping teeth. The teeth comprise a series of resilient pins c, on the outer end of each of which is secured an elongated wire loop d open at the lower end, the teeth being inclined relative to the back of the comb with the adjacent sides of the loops overlapping. The sides of the loops d may be straight or curved, and preferably converge towards the lower ends which are slightly flared outwardly. The pins c may be welded or otherwise secured between the limbs of a U-shaped metal strip b secured in the back of the comb, the free ends of the loops d extending into the recess in the strip b. In a modification, the pins c are stamped or pressed up from a metal bar which is secured in a recess in the back of the comb, the free ends of the loops depending within the recess. The teeth may be arranged in groups, the teeth of one group being inclined in the opposite direction, relative to the back of the comb, to those of the adjacent group.
