Abstract

370,782. Hair-waving appliances. BOUDOU, G., 8, Rue Notre Dame de Lorette, Paris. July 30, 1931, No. 21808. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 1, 1931.] [Class 131.] Winding appliances for permanent hairwaving, of the kind comprising a body part and hinged cover forming a channel for the hair, for example as described in Specification 201,695, [Class 131, Toilet &c.], are provided with a snap-action securing device for holding the lid in the closed position. In the illustrated construction flat and channelled members A, B respectively are pivoted at E and also fitted with spring-snap latches G engaging the lateral projections F. Pressure on the finger-piece I releases the latches when necessary. The curler (not shown) is supported resiliently on the recessed upper surface of the member L loosely mounted in the casing S by means of a central pin O and tiltable against the action of a pair of springs M mounted on opposite sides of the pin. A nut P regulates the maximum lift of the member. The lid portion A is fitted with a comb and spring tongue K. A slit V is provided in the member B for introduction of a binding tape.
