530,686. Knitted fabrics. CLARK, D. M. May 12, 1939, No. 14248. Convention date, March 11. [Class 74 (ii)] Certain courses consist of inelastic thread and the remaining courses consist of elastic thread and inelastic thread knitted together into certain wales, the inelastic thread which is fed with the elastic thread being not knitted in some of the remaining wales. The rib fabric shown comprises elastic threads 7, 8 fed with inelastic threads 4, 6 forming two of a series of four inelastic threads 3 ... 6. The inelastic threads 4 and 6 are floated at wales b, b<SP>1</SP> and d, d' respectively and knitted in the other wales, being knitted with the elastic thread 7, 8 at wales d, d' and b, b' respectively. Thread 3 is tucked in wale d. Thread 5 is tucked in wale b. The pattern repeats every four wales and every six threads.
