Abstract

530,527. Slide rules. DAEMEN, W June 12, 1939, No. 17186. [Class 106 (i)] The inner rotatable member of a slide-rule of the type comprising two circular co-planar scales 2 and 3, and a transparent cursor arm 13, is rotated by means of a radial lever arm 6 and is provided with a number of fixed or exchangeable scale rings 9, 10, 11, 12, graduated in various units of measurement, weight and currency on a single or multi-coloured ground. The calibration of these scale rings is such that the corresponding decimal values of the units thereon may be read off on the scale 3 on the inner member by means of the cursor 13. Alternatively, the scale rings may be arranged on the back of the rule, in which case the lever 6 is made transparent and is provided with a marking line to enable the corresponding decimal value to be read off on the scale 2.
