Abstract
515,446. Weighing-apparatus. BERKEL AUTO SCALE CO., Ltd. (Maatschappij Van Berkel's Patent N.V.). June 2, 1938, No. 16503. [Class 143] In a computing weighing-scale, the numerals representing the weight and computed price of the commodity are carried on a chart or charts which, together with the index member, is or are automatically moved by the weighing mechanism so as to present the numerals to view in correct relation to the graduations on a fixed chart. As shown, the fixed chart 2, of quadrantal form, has an arcuate slot 6 with a row of weight graduations 5; and is provided also with a plurality of arcuate rows of apertures 7 each row corresponding to a different price per unit weight, these prices being marked upon four radial pointers 4 (the index member) moving successively over the fixed chart. The weight numerals and the computed price numerals are marked respectively upon charts 9 and 10 both driven by flexible bands connected to the load counterpoise 1, so that as the pointers move over the fixed chart the correct weight and computed price numerals are presented at the slot 6 and apertures 7. In a modification the weight and computed price numerals are provided on a single chart.
