531,504. Weighing-apparatus. BERKEL AUTO SCALE CO., Ltd., (Maatschappij van Bekel's Patent N. V., and Berkel, C. F. M. van). July 25, 1939, No. 21535. [Class 143] In a weighing-apparatus wherein the load is counterbalanced by a resilient resistant and is indicated on a graduated scale by a pointer capable of more than one revolution within the weighing capacity of the apparatus, the rotation of the pointer is accompanied by the movement of a supplementary chart which displays appropriate major order numerals in succession adjacent the graduated scale in such as manner that the weight may be read off without mental calculation. As shown, the load applied to a drawrod 6 is transmitted by a yoke 5 to counterbalancing springs 4. A rack 7 actuates the pointer 2 relative to a graduated dial 1. At the same time, a supplementary chart 3 bearing rows of numerals and secured to the yoke 5 is moved vertically to display the numerals at apertures 8. The numerals only appear fully at the aperture which the pointer last reached.
