Abstract

567,915. Circular slide-rules. MAcLEAN, J. D. June 1, 1943, Nos. 8713 and 11112. [Class 106 (i)] A calculator or sliderule of circular form comprises superposed coaxial relatively rotatable discs of which the upper is transparent and is marked on the lower side with two of the usual scales, e.g. the B and C scales, while the lower disc is opaque and is marked with the other scales (the A and D scales) in positions to cooperate with the scales on the transparent disc. An intermediate transparent disc or arm carrying a cunsor line may be provided. The slide rule may be duplicated by providing a third disc with B and C scales co-operating with A and D scales on the back of the lower disc, the scales being marked for calculations in sines and cosines. The slide rule may be mounted in a watch type of case, with one of the discs and the cursor rotatable by winding stems.
