589,063. Tabular calculators. HARTLEY, S. Dec. 10, 1944, No. 22138. [Class 106 (i)] A mathematical data indicator comprises a disc 10, divided by concentric circles 14 into zones of annular or part annular form, across which rows of co-related data c are marked in narrow spaces which are definable by curved lines, or by straight lines tangential to a circle concentric with the disc and of substantial diameter. A cursor 22 is pivotally mounted concentrically with the circles 14 and its operative edge 21 is shaped to correspond with the curvature of the curved lines or the tangential lines. In the embodiment described, the indicator bears a table of trigonometrical functions in four sections-two on each side of the disc. A right-angled triangle, and a table 26, giving the methods of solving the triangle for all cases, may be printed on the cursor 22, which may be provided with guides 27 for an auxiliary cursor 29 to facilitate reference to the tables. A second auxiliary cursor 32 may be slidably mounted on the cursor 29.
