Abstract
737,334. Calculating-apparatus. CASTELL, R. G. FABER-. May 26, 1953 [July 15, 1952], No. 14613/53. Class 106 (1). A straight slide rule, in which the slide 2 is exposed on one face only of the stock 1, has co-operating scales on both sides of the stock and a cursor for use with these scales extending behind the stock. In one form, Figs. 2 and 3, the cursor 10 has index lines on its front face and on upper and lower rear portions 12. The stock has a ridge 13 at the rear to allow movement of the cursor when the slide rule is resting on a surface. Scales 33 on the rear of the slide co-operate with index lines on windows 35, 36. In a modification, Fig. 5, the cursor 22 completely surrounds the stock 21 and bears index lines on both faces.
