Abstract

500,237. Calculating-apparratus. LUCAS, S. R. Oct. 26, 1937, No. 29193. [Class 106 (i)] A slide rule of the flat straight type with a cursor and the usual C, D scales is provided with a group of logarithmic scales on the slide and two groups of logarithmic scales on the stock, the scales being arranged and proportioned to deal directly with calculations involving English monetary units, Avoirdupois, and measures of length. The scales H and K are positioned to give results that are twenty times and twelve times the values on scale D. The scales U and V are in such position that results in scale D are divided by twelve and twenty respectively. Scales M and N are used in conjunction to obtain nett amounts in discount calculations. R is the usual scale of reciprocals.
