Abstract
530,505. Pit props ; struts &c. SWITH, H. C. June 27, 1939, No. 18628. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] A telescopic prop or post comprises an outer tubular member 10, an inner sliding member 11 with supporting head 19, a washer 15 having its bore perpendicular to its faces, and an offset abutment 13 on the upper end of the outer tubular member to support one side of the washer, so that it can tilt until the edges of its bore grip and support the inner member after adjustment for height. The upper enc of the outer member may be cut at an incline 12 tc form the abutment and allow tilting of the washer. A ring guard 20 is supported above the washer from the outer member. Further sections similarly supported may be disposed, within the inner sliding section.
