Mine props.-A telescopic prop of the type in which the piston-like end of an inner member rests upon loose material contained within an outer tubular member, has a space provided between the tubular members and the end of the inner member slopes backwardly at d from its outer end to provide an enlarged space into which the material may flow without choking. The inner member end-portion is hollow and provided with an inwardly sloping surface e to rest on the material, a cylindrical part f, and then an upper outwardly sloping portion g which allows free flow of the material into the hollow inner member.
