[Class 44] A fastening for a sliding window comprises a crossbar 22 pivoted in the cross-rail 19 and adapted, as the window approaches its closed position, to be turned inwards by a cam surface 38 on a fixed abutment on the window frame, and then to be turned outwards by a spring 31 so that a catch member 23 rests on top of the abutment.
