528,854. Inductor magnetos. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and WATSON, E. A. May 6, 1939, No. 13575. [Class 35] In a magneto of the type comprising two bar magnets, each of which is provided with two pole pieces, the like poles being connected by cores carrying the coils, the inductor has an odd number of poles and the pitch of the unlike magnet pole pieces is a multiple of half the rotor pole pitch and that of the like poles is an odd multiple of half the rotor pole pitch. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which the pitch of like pole-pieces d or e is one and a half times the rotor pole pitch, that of one pair of like poles is also one and a half times the rotor pole pitch and .that of the other two and a half times the rotor pole pitch. Arrangements in which the like pole pitches are equal are also described. Specification 402,635 is referred to.
