Abstract

528,571. Windows. GIBBS, A. W. L., and CHROMGLAZE, Ltd. March 9, 1939, No. 7689. [Class 20 (iii)] A glazing frame of the kind having unitary construction or which has substantial sections of unitary construction defining cames for the reception of glazing material and which are either coated, for example by plating, enamelling. anodic and like treatment applied to the glass with the panes in situ or which are formed of material which cannot be bent and manipulated after initial assembly characterized by having cames with channel walls of unequal height. Panes or panels 10 are engaged in channels of frame members 11, 12, Fig. 1, the walls 13, 14 of which are of unequal depth. The frame has an extension 15 bearing holes 16 for securing the frame to the building. For drainage purposes the panes do not fit tightly into the channels and drain holes 18, Fig. 3, are provided. A broken pane is replaced by a smaller pane 10<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, bearing against the deeper wall 14 and secured by putty or any convenient cement 17. Modified sections, Figs. 4-8, (not shown) are described. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Speciftcations 128,067, [Class 20 (iii)], and 350,681.
