Abstract

528,540. Oil gas generation. EASTERN OIL REFINING CO., Inc. May 9, 1939, No. 13830. Convention date, June 9, 1938. [Class 55 (ii)] Atomized liquid fuel and air are projected into a combustion chamber 11 against baffles 32, 33 which deflect the flame towards a cavity 15 in the cover 14, and a secondary air supply from a pipe 30 re-directs the flame towards the baffles to increase the turbulence. The baffles are formed with slots to permit the gas generated by partial internal combustion to flow towards the outlet 12. A spark plug 35 initiates combustion within the chamber ; an outer casing 49 encloses a space which may be filled with heat insulation.
