Abstract
527,986. Folding tables. HOLLAND, H. H., and BRIDGER, C. R. April 25, 1939, No. 12388. [Class 52 (iii)] The leg members 6 at each end of a table top 5 are hinged to a cross bar 7, and a block 8 is hinged to the leg member for swinging sideways so that when the leg member is folded inwards the thickness of the block will be accommodated in the space between the underside of the table top and the inner surface of the folded leg member, and a bar 9 is provided on the underside of the table top for the abutment of the block 8 when in operative position. The leg members 6 when in the open position are braced by a connecting bar having T-shaped ends 12, Fig. 4, fitting into slots 14, the presence of the bar maintaining the block 8 pressed against the bar 9. When the table is in the folded condition, the connecting bar may be held with its ends in recesses 15 by means of fasteners 16.
