527,228. Vacuum cleaner dust bags. OSTERDAHL, R. K. April 4, 1939, No. 10494. Convention date, April 14, 1938. [Class 8 (ii)] A dust-collecting bag for vacuum cleaners comprises an outer wall 9 of paper with perforations 10 or of other pervious material and a lining 23 of wadding such as ligno-cellulose; the lining has a longitudinal seam covered interiorly by an adhesive strip 3 which prevents the spread of adhesive from the seam of the outer wall to the other side of the bag when in a collapsed state. The seam is sealed by overlapping or by an external strip 5 glued to the outer wall. An inner supporting lining 24 may be provided with large openings 25. The upper edges of the lining 24 and the wall 9 are connected by the adhesive part of a band 8 formed with expansible folds. The lower parts are secured by adhesive tape 29.
