Abstract

512,945. Vacuum cleaner dust bags. KONSTANTINOSTERDAHL, R. March 18, 1938, Nos. 8352, 8353 and 8354. Convention dates, March 19, 1937, June 26, 1937 and Dec. 7, 1937. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A collapsable vacuum cleaner bag has a body 9 of paper &c. with an upper portion 8 folded or corrugated so that it can be unfolded outwardly to form a continuous annular flange adapted to be secured to the cleaner. The bag may be enclosed in an outer separate cotton bag with a metal flange. The bag may be formed from a sheet 16 folded transversely at creases 11, 12 and creased along lines 13, 14. A strip 15 is glued to the lower part, and a web of perforated paper on the other side so that the folds below the crease 13 are enclosed between the two. The perforations 10 are formed by cut-out flaps, the ends of which may be lightly connected with the web. The inner side of the web is covered with a liquid-cellulose layer which may have a lining of open-work material with large openings. Bags are formed from blanks cut from the composite sheet.
