Abstract

525,977. Beat-up mechanism for looms. DERBYSHIRE, W. March 4, 1939, No. 7125. [Class 142 (iii)] In weaving terry &c. fabrics, the sley and reed are advanced the full amount after each terry pick and less amounts after other picks. Each sley sword A is connected to a pivot a mounted on a slide b arranged in an arcuate slot b<SP>1</SP> the curvature of which is eccentric to the pivot C of the connecting rod B. The position of the slide b in the slot b<SP>1</SP> is regulated by a link D pivoted to an arm D<SP>1</SP> pivoted at K to the sley arms and carrying a runner d. A switch plate f<SP>3</SP> controlled by dobby &c. either engages the runner d and lifts the rod B or allows the runner to proceed on a horizontal track f<SP>1</SP> in which case the rod B is dropped and a complete beat-up is made.
