Abstract
524,772. Bevelling veneer sheets. LIPPERT, H., (trading as LIPPERT MASCHINENBAUANSTALT, H.). Feb. 7, 1939, No. 3997. Convention date, March 4, 1938. [Class 60)] A machine for bevelling veneer sheets comprises a grinding-cylinder A, of length equal to the width of the sheet, mounted on a frame L and driving, through a coupling operated by a pedal D, a shaft B carrying eccentrics N, the shaft B driving a shaft C carrying eccentrics N<SP>1</SP>. The sheet W rests on a table E, its edge being positioned by a stop F and the table being lifted to carry the edge away from the stop and into contact with the grinding-cylinder by the eccentrics N on shaft B. The eccentrics act through eccentric members on the shaft J adjustable by the lever H to vary the height to which the table is raised. The sheet is then held down on the table by a spring pressed clamp bar G, and the table is reciprocated laterally of the cylinder A by the eccentrics N<SP>1</SP>, the table moving on an inclined guide K adjustable to suit the angle of the bevel. The work is lowered and the shafts B, C are stopped by releasing the pedal D.
