[Class 80 (ii)] A shaft coupling comprising flanged members connected by rigid members extending axially between them and wherein resilient material is arranged between the rigid members and holes or sockets in the flanged members in which they are inserted has the resilient material adhesively connected to the sockets and rigid members by adhesive cement, bonding medium or by vulcanization or other known process. In the form shown in Fig. 3 the ends of the rigid pins 3 are completely enclosed in rubber which is bonded in sockets 5 inserted in holes in the plates 1, 2. The sockets 5 may be dispensed with and the rubber bonded in the holes. In a modification the ends of the pins are exposed and the holes extend right through the plates 1, 2. In the form shown in Fig. 8 the rigid members 18 are rectangular in cross-section and the separate masses of rubber are amalgamated into a single mass 16 extending between the plates 15, 15' bolted to the flanged members 1b, 2b. In the form shown in Fig. 10 a single mass of rubber is provided for each pin 8 which has a reinforcing flange 18. The metal sockets 9, 9' are provided with flanges 10, 10<1> which enclose an annular part of the rubber mass. The flange 18 may be dispensed with and the rubber and sockets may extend round the ends of the pins.
