Abstract

524,463. Gas burners. EMSCOTE FOUNDRY CO., Ltd., and HARVEY, F. Jan. 30, 1939, No. 3175. [Class 75 (i)] A tubular gas-burner 23 for heating the radiant of a griller is combined with a separately operable boiling gas-burner 19 mounted on top of it, a single gas nozzle projecting into each tube supplying either burner alternatively. The boiling burner 19 and its mixing tube 26 are made in one with the grilling burner 23, and are pivotally mounted at one end 25 so that either the mixing tube 26 or the tube 23 is brought opposite the nozzle 29. A spring clip 33, fixed to a handle 32 integral with the burners, grips the nozzle 29 to hold the grilling burner in the operative position. When the burners are lowered to bring the boiling burner into operation, the end of the mixing tube 26 rests on the nozzle 29. The movement of the burners may, however, be horizontal instead of vertical. The burner 19 comprises a tunnel-shaped part 37 which is almost closed by a disc-like cap 38 with oblique nozzles around its edge.
