Abstract
837,318. Grilling stoves. CANNON INDUSTRIES Ltd., and OATLEY, A. F. Jan. 21, 1958 [Jan. 22, 1957], No. 2236/57. Class 126 A removable grill is placed on supports in front of a burner at the upper rear part of an oven when the oven door is open, and the door is prevented from closing when the grill is in use so that the products of combustion pass out through the open door instead of through the vent used when the oven door is closed for baking. A removable grill 2 and burner 3 are supported in the upper part of an oven with the mixing tube 4 of the burner engaging a nozzle 7 at the rear of the oven. The grill 2 and burner 3 are supported by the nozzle 7 and lugs 10 on the side walls of the oven. A gas tap .9 controlling the supply to the nozzle 7 carries a bar 14 to prevent the drop down oven door 1 being closed when the grill is in use. A normal oven burner 15 is supported below a slot 17 at the back of the oven bottom, and is controlled by a tap 19. A single two-way on and off tap may replace the taps 9, 19. A bar 23 at the front of the grill serves as a handle for withdrawing it. The oven has vents 24 at the lower part of the back for use when the oven door is closed for baking.
