[Class 126] [Also in Group XXXVI] In a table-heater comprising a hollow glass body 2 containing heating means, the top of the body is a flat rim 10, and the outside of the body has handles 1 and a strengthening rib adjacent to the rim 10. In Fig. 9, the handles merge into the top strengthening rib, which is one of a number of ribs 2<SP>1</SP>. A cover plate 7 has legs 12 or a flange which rest on the top rib and support it a short distance above the rim 10. Gaps between the legs 12 or apertures in the flange form vents. Lugs 30 support a plate 28 with an air inlet 6 and sockets 4 for wax-lights. This plate may be integral with the glass body. Its aperture 6 may be closable by a pivoted disc. Instead of wax-lights, the heater may have an electric heating element carried by a plate resting on lugs 29. This element is connected to inclined terminals 21, 22 fixed to a plate 23 on the main plate. A plug, Fig. 7, connecting with these terminals comprises two parts 16, 17 hinged together at 18, having socket terminals 19, 20. By pressing the outer ends of the plug together against the action of the spring 18<SP>1</SP>, the plug can be released from the terminals 21, 22. In another form, one of the ribs 2<SP>1</SP> is enlarged and flanged to form a trough which can be filled with coloured water when the electric heater is in use.
