Ovens. - In an appliance for baking, roasting, and stewing, of the kind comprising a stand a supporting a cooking-vessel d and cover i, the gases from a heating device enter through spaced arcuate inlet slots a<1>, a<2>, a<3> in the stand, and leave by groups of openings i<1> - i<4> arranged in the lateral wall of the cover in staggered relation to the inlet slots. The vessel d is supported on an insulating plate b, and is provided with a wire grid and a cuplike device h, Fig. 3, which are inserted respectively for use in roasting and baking annular pies. An inspection hole k closed by transparent material is provided in the cover i.
