[Class 126.] A cooking device or oven for placing over a gas or other heater comprises a baseplate 1 with a large central aperture 6 above which is a platform 2 for supporting food utensils and having a baffleplate 3 below it, together with a bell-form cover 7 having divergent sides which encloses the cooking-space. The cover is provided with escape apertures 9 and eyelets 8 for the hooks of a lifting handle. In the apparatus shown the cover is elliptical in plan.
