Resistance ovens.-A food carrier with means for keeping the contents hot, or for heating them, comprises a body 1 containing a tray 10 carried by supports 8 at the top and adapted to be lifted off them, food pans or vessels 11 supported by flanges or beads 11<x> in apertures in the tray, and a heater in the lower part beneath the vessels 11. The heater may comprise electric lamps 14 carried by an angle-bracket 15 and covered by a shield 16 held by slides 18 on the bottom of the body. 'The body may be of wood, with a metal lining 4 and an interposed asbestos or like lining 2. The hinged lid is fitted internally with loops 20 and strips 21 for holding cutlery, plates, &c.
