Abstract

292,709. Lockyer, E. G. F. March 31, 1927. Food-warming stoves; ovens; oven shelves.- Relates to a partitioned carrier or container for food and other articles, fitted with means for heating the food or for keeping it hot. The container comprises a food-warming compartment 6, Figs. 2, 3, in which the food-containing vessels 13 are supported in openings in a removable tray 10 above electric lamps 15 or other heating means such as a slow burning fuel. At one or both ends of the food compartment are storage chambers 18 and in front thereof a chamber 19 suitably fitted with wire or spring devices 20, 21 for holding cups, bottles, plates, &c. The cover 2 hinged to the rear wall at 3 has sloped sides and is deeper at the front than the back. The front wall of the container may be hinged to facilitate access to the contents of the chamber 19. When a slowburning fuel is employed as the heating means the walls of the container 6 may be made double affording a flue space through which the products of combustion can pass, emerging through an opening at the top of the container.
