Abstract
563,726. Drip trays for cooking apparatus. DAVIES, E. S., and WELLS, F. G. Jan. 29, 1943, No. 1552. [Class 126] A drip tray for use with one or more burners is provided with one or more apertures therein, each having an upstanding flange providing a utensil support and surrounding or positioned above the burner whereby liquid running down the sides of a utensil resting on the flange is caused to fall into the tray and is prevented from reaching the burner. As shown in Fig. 1, the tray 1 has an upstanding flange 2 supporting a utensil 7 and surrounds a burner 4. Gases from the burner pass through apertures 9 in the flange or through recesses formed in the upper edge of the flange which is provided with a downturned lip 8 for directing liquid into the tray. Fig. 4 shows a drip tray 11 for a gas stove having a number of apertures 13 each provided with a flange 14 for supporting a utensil and arranged above a burner 12.
