258,463. Falkirk Iron Co., Ltd., Kennard, H. J., and Wood, A. R. Jan. 8. 1926. Electric hot-plates.-Relates to cooking- apparatus having a heating device comprising an exposed resistance arranged on a refractory block 3 located in a recess or hole in the hob 2, and consists in providing in combination a plate 10 arranged to cover that part of the resistance not covered by the cooking utensil and a drip tray 14 disposed below the outer edge of the plate. A number of plates with different sizes of apertures may be provided. A number of bars may extend across the apertures to form a grid. The underside of the plate may have concentric corrugations, and is enamelled if made of metal so that it may lie close to the resistance. The drip device may extend around the whole of the periphery of the plate.
