Abstract
276,361. Armstrong, C. C. Aug. 3, 1925, [Convention, date]. Electric stoves and hot-plates; resistance ovens. -A heating unit for a cooking stove comprises a casing 11 enclosing a heating coil or coils 17 and fitted with depending contacts 18 engaging contacts in the stove top, the bottom of the casing being shaped to provide one or more flat facings which rest on the top of the stove. These facings consist of circular embossments surrounding the contacts. The heating coils are threaded through bar 11j mounted in an inner frame member 11d suspended from the top of the casing 11. An aperture in one side of the casing allows a toaster or waffle iron to be introduced between the coils. The casing comprises upper and lower rectangular sections. The top section is of aluminium and has an upstanding cirrcular portion 23 for receiving a cooking vessel and passing through a cover plate 4 on the stove. Specification 256,256 is referred to.
