523,495. Motor-vehicle roofs. AUSTIN MOTOR CO., Ltd., and LLOYD, H. H. Jan. 9, 1939, No. 654. [Class 108 (i)] The metal top of a motor-vehicle is formed with a flanged opening which is closed by fabric stretched over a frame which encloses the flange and is secured to the metal portion of the roof. The flange a on the metal part A is turned over at a<SP>1</SP> and the fabric D has its edges wrapped over the wooden frame c<SP>2</SP>, the frame being secured by screws. In a modification the frame is formed of V-section metal. The fabric is supported by spaced stretchers F carried by brackets g formed as extensions of strengthening members G.
