Abstract

196,493. Standard Motor Co., Ltd., and Maudslay, R. W. May 13, 1922. Opening tops.-In vehicle bodies in which the sides and framework of the top are permanently in place and an aperture in the roof is adapted to be closed by a detachable or sliding lid and has each edge provided with an upstanding flange or its equivalent, a filling-in piece L, Fig. 1, of roughly triangular section is placed along the outside of the flange C. The piece L stands ashigh as the flange C and extends to the edge of the roof, parts L<2> being cut away and provided with drains L<3>. A packing strip H, Fig. 3, may replace the flange, the lid G being held thereon against the action of a spring J by a catch K. Specification 191,272 is referred to.
