Abstract

374,738. Bonnets. SOSS, J., 647, East 1st Avenue, Roselle, New Jersey, U.S.A. Sept. 25, 1931, No. 26821. [Class 79 (iii).] A double hinge for the bonnet of a motor car consists of a central fixed strip 12 and two strips 15, 16 attached to the parts 10, 11 of the bonnet. The curved' edges of the strips 15, 16 form bearing parts 15a, 16a which co-operate with similar parts 13, 14 on the fixed strip 12. The parts 15a, 16a serve also as gutters for rainwater which enters openings 18. The hinge is assembled by sliding the strips 15, 16 endwise on to the strip 12. The bearing parts may be curved the opposite way from that shown. The hinges may be provided with hinge-pins.
