Abstract
521,682. Concrete piles. RICHES, V. C. D. (Riches, H. G. G. G.). March 2, 1939, Nos. 6878/38 and 9714/39. [Class 68 (ii)] Piles are constructed of precast concrete units, the ends of which interengage and are locked against axial displacement by transverse locking members engaging both units. A spigot and socket connection with transverse locking bars 10 may be used or one unit may be screwed into the other. Cement concrete &c. is poured into the joint before assembly thus embedding the reinforcing rods which project from both units into the space so filled. Axial and circumferential reinforcement may be provided in the precast units and the axial reinforcement may interlock with the transverse locking bars.
