[Class 20 (iv)] A precast elongated relatively narrow ribbed element for flooring and the like has its longitudinal edges strengthened by ribs of less depth than the main ribs and these edges may be recessed to allow of overlapping at the edges. The element a is provided with two or more main webs b which may be reinforced, and the edges are stiffened by ribs c of less depth than the main ribs and recessed at d to form joints. The inside surfaces of the ribs may be bevelled and the recesses f on opposite edges reversed for overlap. Transverse end and intermediate ribs j may be provided. The ends of the main ribs may be reinforced and this reinforcement may be covered by concrete of superior mix compared with that used for the remainder of the element as described in Specification 525,679.
