521,577. Cushions. MISHAWAKA RUBBER & WOOLEN MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 16, 1938, No. 36768. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1937. [Class 52 (iv)] A sponge rubber squab is supported on a surface of stretchable fabric-reinforced rubber. As applied to a tubularframed seat the supporting surface may consist of a bias-cut tape of rubber-coated fabric 27 wound on the frame or, for the seat-back an envelope 33 may be placed over the frame and secured by lacing, the front face or both faces of the envelope being of stretchable rubber-coated fabric, e.g., knitted or bias-cut. The side posts and top rail 18 of the seat-back may be cushioned by winding a sponge rubber strip thereon.
