Seat bottoms and backs. - A seating surface for a deck chair comprises transverse slats 6 threaded on cords or the like 5 which pass into cross members 1 of the chair frame, one of which cross members has a channel 2 to receive the ends of the cords, or their securing means 4, and a closing member 3. Resilient distance pieces 7 may be provided between the members 1 and the slats.
