Spring surfaces.-A seat member comprises a frame 2 carrying resilient wooden laths 1 supported at their centre by a transverse bar 3 and bearing block B, the latter being resiliently supported by cords 4 carrying a plate 6. Buffers 7 are interposed between the frame 2 and the rigid seat frame F, and the twisted cords 4 may be tensioned by turning the pegs 5.
