Abstract

318,354. Wells, E. G. July 25, 1928. Folding seats; seat bottoms and backs. -In a folding seat of the type consisting of pivoted X- frames 10, 11 with the frame 15 of the seat proper pivoted at its :front end to the frame 11, its rear end having projecting pins engaging slots 20 in the frame 10 and in which the seating surface is constituted by a strip of fabric 23 stretched upon the seat frame 15, the back rest consists of a strip of fabric 24 stretched between a cross bar at the top of the frame 10 and a rear cross bar of the seat frame 15. The seating surface and the back rest may consist of one length of fabric which is threaded round and between a pair of parallel bars at the rear of the seat frame 15. The fabric seat and back may be supported by bands 28 secured to the frames. The pins 19 engaging the slots 20 pass through the seat frame 15 and are each formed with an attaching flange 21.
