Abstract

816,959. Cushions, attaching to seats. ELLMAN, L. Sept. 20, 1957 [June 22, 1956], No. 19327/56. Class 52(4) A detachable back rest or cushion has a body part 3 of foam rubber and bendable metal straps or bars 10, which fit over the back of the seat, secured to a batten 8 fixed through a harder rubber block 7 to the body 3, the assembly being enclosed within a textile cover 11 having extensions 13 to receive the bars 10. The bars 10 may have a layer of sponge rubber on their inner faces and the part 3 may consist of two layers of honeycomb foam rubber adhesively united and surrounded by peripheral strips of foam rubber to give a smooth outer surface.
