Class 52(4) Foam or sponge rubber upholstery or a cushion 1 is moulded to the desired finished contour and has spaced narrow slits 3 extending into passages 4 which accommodate seams 6 or piping or the like formed on the inner surface of covering material 5. The covering may be bonded to channels 4 by adhesive. In a modification the passages 4 form a diamond pattern and have the usual tufting buttons at their intersections.
