Abstract
521,440. Ticket-cancelling machines. FISHBURN, J. E., HULBERT, L., WARD, A. W., and BELL PUNCH CO., Ltd. Aug. 20, 1938, No. 24555. Addition to 479,546 and 496,900. [Class 106 (iii)] In a ticket cancelling machine having means to sever a ticket into longitudinal strips as claimed in the parent Specification, a drum 10 or equivalent member feeds the ticket strip to the cutting means and then advances one of the sub-strips to an ejection point from the machine. The ticket strip is inserted through a slot 23 and is carried along by the power operated drum 10. The latter is provided with a slot 12 extending along the centre of its periphery and an endless band 13 holds the part of the ticket on one side of the groove firmly on the drum. A rotary knife 39 enters grooves 12 and divides the ticket strip and the free sub-strip falls into receptacle 41 while the sub-strip held by band 13 carries the other sub-strip round to an ejection slide 43. A roller 26 bearing on the strips carries cam rollers 27 which operate a counter 32 through link 30 and levers 28 and 31. The roller 26 carries a cam 34 co-operating with a roller 35 so that the counter is brought to a precise indication when a strip has passed and slight overfeed or underfeed corrected.
