Abstract

520,916. Milk &c. cartons. WALKER, W. Nov. 5, 1938, No. 32075. [Class 66] Seamless containers for milk &c. formed of cellulose acetate or other transparent artificial film-forming material by pressing or dipping, are provided with wide mouths having outwardly extending flanges 11 by which they can be supported during filling and sealing and over which cover sheets 14 of similar material overlapping the flanges can be applied and either heat-sealed or secured by an adhesive comprising polyvinyl acetate. The projecting corners 15 of the covers facilitate detachment. The containers may be of the truncated conical form shown or may be cylindrical or flask-shaped and may be provided with one or more pouring lips 13. They may be strengthened by peripheral corrugations and may be coated externally or lined for instance with a lacquer having a polyvinyl ester or ether basis.
