Abstract
534,535. Compound sheet materials; wrappings; hollow-ware. NICOLLE, C. Aug. 28, 1939, Nos. 24671 and 24672. Convention dates, Sept. 10, 1938 and April 11, 1939. [Class 140] [Also in Group XVII] A packing, wrapping or container having one or more recesses for the reception of the articles, tablets, powder or grains to be packed is made from two recessed, e.g. moulded or stamped sheets of plastic material having interposed therebetween a layer of waterproofing material. The layer may comprise cellulose esters, polyvinyl or polyacrylic esters, artificial resins, paraffin, rubber latex or rubber solution. The layer may be a coating on one or both of the sheets or a film varnished on both sides and interposed between the sheets. As shown in Fig. 4, the plastic sheets 1, 2 have a layer 3 of varnish between them. The sheets may be assembled either hot or cold, and before or during shaping. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, a container is made from plastic sheets 13, 14 and an intermediate film 15 obtained from rubber latex which may or may not be secured to the sheets by a varnish. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, describes also a single plastic sheet 13, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), adhered to a film 15 obtained from rubber latex and a packing made therefrom. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
