[Class 82 (i)] A container or pot for sal baths for the heat treatmen of metals comprises a thin metal lining a having a thickness of 0À5-4À0 mm. which bears directly on refractory and/or insulating supporting material b adapted to take mechanical strains, the lining providing a fluid tight layer The part b which may be o: brickwork is enclosed in an outer frame c formed of iron plates and angle irons. The lining a, which is formed of a siliconchromium steel, may be provided with reinforcements and with corrugations or folds for taking up expansion. An annular lip a' overhanging the mouth of the opening in the brickwork b may be provided on the lining a.
