Abstract

520,128. Valve amplifiers. MURPHY RADIO Ltd., TRUSCOTT, D. N., and REYNOLDS, G. D. Sept. 13, 1938, No. 26711. [Class 40 (v)] Remote control of the volume of sound produced by a radio receiver is obtained by providing negative feed-back from the A.F. amplifier and controlling it at a distant point by a potentiometer or variable resistance. Filter means may also be provided in the feedback circuit. In Fig. 3 feed-back is taken from the anode of the output valve 2 through a potentiometer made up of resistances 10, 11, 12, the resistance 10 being variable and placed at the point of remote control. Tone-control is obtained by condensers 13, 14, which attenuate low-frequency and high-frequency feed-back respectively.
